This strategic partnership merges LG Innotek’s prowess in optical and precision engineering with TDK’s cutting-edge sensor technologies, paving the way for next-generation applications in robotics.

Anticipated to be available in 2027, the duo’s initial offering will be a vision sensing module equipped with an inertial sensor. This advanced module is designed to integrate visual, motion, direction, and sound data, thereby enhancing robots’ ability to interpret and react to their environments. Such integration aims to minimize image distortion that typically occurs due to movement, marking a significant leap in robotic sensing capabilities.

Additionally, the collaboration is set to deliver a tactile sensing module, projected for release in the same year. This module is engineered to emulate the sensitivity of human skin, enabling robots to detect touch and pressure across various parts of their anatomy, such as hands, arms, and bodies. This development is expected to significantly enhance the interactive and operational functionalities of robots in various applications.
