The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has given the green light for its customers to proceed with loading crude oil shipments from its Das and Zirku island ports in the Persian Gulf. This decision follows a recent agreement between the United States and Iran, which has led to improved conditions and the anticipation of uninterrupted maritime traffic through the critical Strait of Hormuz.
ADNOC highlighted that as of April 27, crude shipments have been ready for collection. The company cautioned clients that failing to pick up scheduled shipments could result in a breach of contract. In a bid to facilitate smooth operations, ADNOC has also extended offers of support through its own or affiliated tanker fleets for customers encountering shipping difficulties.
This development is a significant step for Gulf oil producers aiming to reestablish standard export operations after recent disruptions in the region. ADNOC, known for being one of the most active exporters in the area, has already transacted tens of millions of barrels through tenders, maintaining its strong presence in the market.
In parallel with resuming exports, the United Arab Emirates is actively working on diversifying its export routes to lessen dependency on the Strait of Hormuz. Efforts are underway to enhance infrastructure, notably by increasing pipeline capacity to the port of Fujairah on the Gulf of Oman. This expansion is intended to enable a greater volume of crude exports to bypass the strategic waterway, ensuring a more secure and reliable export pathway.
