LG Electronics has announced its most successful second-quarter financial results to date, fueled by strong demand across its home appliances, vehicle components, and HVAC systems sectors. The company reported a preliminary operating profit of 1.58 trillion won, equivalent to $1.04 billion, marking an impressive 146.9% increase from the previous year. Revenue also saw a significant rise of 14.9%, reaching 23.83 trillion won, exceeding market expectations.
For the initial half of the year, LG achieved new company records, with revenue reaching 47.56 trillion won and operating profit amounting to 3.25 trillion won. These robust figures were attributed to increased sales across major business segments, enhanced cost efficiencies, growth in subscription services, the expansion of webOS, and a boost in online sales.
The home appliance, vehicle solutions, and HVAC divisions were pivotal in driving the company’s growth. The surge in demand for high-end home appliances, automotive infotainment systems, and cooling solutions notably in Europe, which experienced heatwaves, significantly contributed to LG’s performance.
In addition to their immediate successes, LG Electronics emphasized its ongoing investment in future growth sectors. This includes advancements in AI data center cooling technologies and the development of sophisticated robotics components, showcasing the company’s commitment to long-term innovation and market leadership.
